Premier Padel Newgiza P2, Day3 Hernandez-Jensen, a remarkable run: from qualifying to the quarter-finals
One of the biggest surprises of the start of the season comes from Egypt. Luis Hernandez, number 56 in the FIP ranking, and Enzo Jensen, number 86, are enjoying a remarkable run: starting from the qualifiers, they have reached the quarter-finals of the Newgiza P2 by defeating one of the tournament's top pairs, Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger. However, beyond the victory, it was the scoreline that stood out, with Hernandez and Jensen dominating the third set, closed 6-0 after winning the first in a tie-break and after the 6-3 for the number 3 seeds had appeared to turn the match. An outstanding achievement that now sets up a quarter-final against Edu Alonso and Juan Tello (8), completing a perfect day for the Jensen family, as earlier in the morning Claudia, Enzo's sister, had defeated Jessica Castelló and Lorena Rufo 6-0 6-3 alongside Tamara Icardo. Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan, in their opening match, dropped a set but ultimately overcame Gonzalo Rubio and Javi Ruiz, closing the match 6-3 4-6 6-1. In the quarter-finals, they will face José Jimenez and Javi Garcia, with the line-up completed by Garrido/Bergamini (7) vs. Stupaczuk/Yanguas (2) and Nieto/Sanz (5) vs. Guerrero/Navarro (4).

WOMEN In the women's draw, seven of the eight seeded pairs will feature in the quarter-finals. The only exception is Bea Caldera and Carmen Goenaga, who had already reached the quarter-finals in Miami and repeated the result thanks to a 6-2 6-3 win over Ale Salazar and Ale Alonso (7). Tomorrow at 9:00, they will face Bea Gonzalez and Paula Josemaria on the centre court (for the number 2 seeds, a three-set win over Victoria Iglesias and Aranzazu Osoro), followed by Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay (1) against Marina Guinart and Veronica Virseda (8). On court 1, Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero (3) will first face Jensen/Icardo, followed by Marta Ortega and Martina Calvo (6) against Claudia Fernandez and Sofia Araujo (4).
