Global Polo Champions Converge in Qatar for the First-Ever Polo Showcase Doha, Qatar -7 December 2025: Polo AlMarsa Qatar 2025, the first-ever polo exhibition event in Qatar, has announced the teams and championship cups for its exciting debut. Happening at the iconic Old Doha Port - the official venue host - from 11 to 13 December 2025, the event unites elite players from Qatar, Argentina, and Chile, who will play in mixed teams to compete for four iconic cups in a celebration of sporting excellence and cultural exchange. Hosted by Qatar Polo Club, with the support of The Social & Sport Contribution Fund DAAM, and presented by Qatar Calendar, Polo AlMarsa is bringing the elegance and energy of polo to the heart of Doha through a three-day celebration that unites sport, culture, and lifestyle. The event is driven by the Strategic Cultural Partnership with Years of Culture, which is celebrating Argentina and Chile this year. The 2025 edition will feature four cups, each reflecting a different dimension of Polo AlMarsa sporting and cultural identity. On Friday, 12 December, the Years of Culture Championship Trophy will be contested over three chukkas, uniting leading players in a showcase that celebrates the Qatar Argentina and Chile 2025 Year of Culture. Competing for this trophy are Team Buenos Aires, represented by Saleh Al Marri, Milo Mac Donough, and Pablo Mac Donough, and Team Santiago, featuring Ahmed Al Badi, José Donoso, and León Donoso. Highlighting the strategic partnership, the Years of Culture Championship Trophy reflects Polo AlMarsa Qatar 2025's commitment to ensure an experience that reflects respect for heritage and global exchange. Adding to the competitive spirit, the AlMarsa Women's Cup will bring together team Ladies Doha, represented by Sophie Kyriazi, Sarah Rippon, and Magdalena Escrina, alongside team Ladies Lusail, competing with Elizabeth Clarkin, Lucia Mier Portillo, and the 10‑goal legend defining the pinnacle of polo Nina Clarkin. Completing the line-up is the Qatar Ladies Trophy, contested over two chukkas on Friday, celebrating the strength, precision, and growing influence of women in polo. On Saturday, 13 December, the Polo AlMarsa Qatar 2025 Championship Cup will stage an exhilarating four‑team knock‑out challenge, as distinguished teams clash in the semi‑finals before advancing to the grand finale to contest the coveted cup. Four elite teams will vie for the title: Team Buenos Aires with Saleh Al Marri, Milo Mac Donough, and the renowned Pablo Mac Donough - Argentina's celebrated polo icon and distinguished Gold Cup winner; Team Santiago with Ahmed Al Badi, León Donoso, and José Donoso; Team Lusail, represented by Bader Al Marri, the rising force in polo Beltrán Laulhé, and Gastón Laulhé; and Team Doha, competing with Abdulaziz Al-Qahtani, Beltrán Di Paola, and Marcos Di Paola. In a rare and historic first, Polo AlMarsa Qatar 2025 celebrates the spirit of family, as fathers and sons, and mothers and daughters, among them world stars Pablo and Milo Mac Donough, compete side by side.
