After the hard-fought and difficult win of Coello and Tapia — earned thanks to the strong play of Fran Guerrero and Momo Gonzalez — their long-time rivals Ale Galan and Fede 'Chingo' Chingotto responded with a convincing victory against Aguirre and Chozas. The 6-2, 6-4 score in one hour and eighteen minutes showed the superiority of a pair that has often challenged and even beaten the world number ones, as they did at the Milano Premier Padel P1. Against Aguirre and Chozas, who also played very well, Galan and Chingotto won 56% of total points and converted 56% of their break points, compared to 44% and 40% for the Argentine duo. There was also a clear difference in total points on serve (64% vs 52%) and especially in return points (48% vs 36%). Like their long-time rivals, Galan and Chingotto proved to be in great shape — another reason to keep following the first historic edition of the FIP World Cup Pairs.
