Doha, Qatar - 12 October 2025 - Cityscape Qatar 2025 opened its doors today at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Real estate sales surge 41% as Cityscape Qatar 2025 opens with record investor interest

Now in its 13th edition, Qatar's premier property and investment platform welcomed thousands of visitors, investors and industry leaders for an opening day that brought the nation's evolving urban vision to life. The opening ceremony drew senior government officials, international investors, and prominent developers for an official VIP tour of the exhibition floor.

Running alongside the exhibition, the Qatar Real Estate Forum, organised by Aqarat, the Qatar Real Estate Authority, returns for its third edition, bringing policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators together under the theme 'Shaping the Future of Real Estate.' Across the exhibition and forum, conversations focused on sustainable expansion, technological innovation, and new investment pathways that align with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 and the country's strategy to become a global real estate hub.

'Over the past year, Aqarat has continued to strengthen the foundations of Qatar's real-estate sector, playing a vital role in national progress, with both direct and indirect impacts driving an average annual GDP increase of 4%.' said His Excellency Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiya, Minister of Municipality. 'Following the launch of our national strategy in September 2024, we have introduced a new regulatory framework and authorized 19 developers to establish specialized training programs in collaboration with universities. This progress has contributed to a record 41% increase in real-estate sales, reflecting strong investor confidence and sustainable market growth.'

He was joined by His Excellency Engineer Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi General Real Estate Authority, who added 'The Gulf region is witnessing a profound transformation in the way our cities and communities are being developed. The real-estate sector is no longer defined by housing construction alone, it is now centered on building integrated, smart, and sustainable cities that enhance quality of life.'

Throughout the day, discussions explored construction, smart infrastructure, and technological advancement. Highlights included Lessons from Creating Luxury Hotspot, offering insights into Qatar's national drive to attract global capital while delivering sustainable luxury development models.

'Like every nation, Qatar started modestly, but under the Emir's ambitious leadership we have built a city that reflects our heritage and identity' said Eng. Nasser Hassan Faraj Al Ansari, Chairman and CEO of Just Real Estate. 'Preparing a city is not just about building roads, it's like weaving fabric. Since 2022, tourism in Qatar has increased massively, and this year alone between 1.4 and 1.5 million tourists have visited, reinforcing real estate's role at the heart of Qatar's growth.'

The sessions Future Prospects of the Real Estate Sector in the GCC and Real Estate Sector Roadmap Towards Vision 2030 added further depth to the day's dialogue, with thought leaders addressing key priorities, from resilient infrastructure to digital transformation and low-carbon.

Saudi-Qatari partnership marks milestone moment for Gulf real estate collaboration

Day One concluded with strong investor engagement and new partnerships forming across the show floor, including the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding between the NHC of Saudi Arabia and Qatar Diar, marking a significant milestone for the opening day and setting the pace for what promises to be an impactful event ahead.

His Excellency Engineer Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia said 'When we look at Qatari Diar, we see a company that has built remarkable projects around the world, and today we are proud to celebrate the signing of an MoU that paves the way for their presence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.'
