Al Meera organizes a clean-up campaign at Umraih Beach in Al-Khor celebrating World Cleanup Day

Initiative reinforces Al Meera’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement

Doha, Qatar - 21 September 2025: In line with its commitment to community sustainability, Al Meera Consumer Goods Company (Q.P.S.C.) organized a clean-up campaign at Umraih Beach in Al Khor, in coordination with the Ministry of Municipality, to celebrate World Cleanup Day.

The campaign is part of Al Meera’s wider Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, which actively supports the economic, human, social, and environmental pillars of the Qatar National Vision 2030. This initiative specifically focused on environmental awareness, encouraging responsible waste disposal, and promoting recycling habits across the community.

The campaign saw several volunteer employees from Al Meera's management gather at Umraih on September 19th, where they dedicated their time to supporting national efforts aimed at protecting Qatar’s coastal environment and preserving its natural resources.

Commenting on the initiative, an Al Meera spokesperson stated: As a leading national retailer, Al Meera is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of our community. This campaign is a testament to our firm belief that a better, more sustainable future depends on integrating eco-friendly practices into our daily lives. We are proud to be at the forefront of national initiatives that improve our community's quality of life and create a cleaner, healthier environment for current and future generations.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Ministry of Municipality for their support of the Umraih Beach Clean-up Campaign and look forward to more collaborative efforts in the future.”

The clean-up served as a call to action for the public to reduce plastic and other harmful waste, highlighting the importance of shared responsibility in building a cleaner, greener future.
