This initiative resulted from a special partnership with the Emergency Health Preparedness Department at MOPH and Hamad Medical Corporation to honour medical caregivers on the front lines of the epidemic.

Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital, located in Ar-Rayyan, is one of Hamad Medical Corporation’s latest facility with an intensive care unit for COVID-19 patients and over 200 dedicated medical staff members working around the clock. Riyasat will be preparing 200 heart-warming Biryani meals, at the restaurant’s kitchen with the help of all its staff members. The meals will be wrapped in well packaged boxes, ensuring all safety measures and precautions are taken and delivered straight to the hospital’s front-line workers. Chef Jolly commented on this occasion: “These doctors and nurses are the heroes of our society. For the past 15 months they have been constantly putting their life before others in the continuous fight against the virus. Serving them a heart-warming meal for Eid is the least we can do. They deserve to be honoured in every way possible. There is a chance they might not be able to go home and spend a nice home cooked meal with their families for Eid, and hence the idea came up. We are sure serving them a meal prepared with love and care straight from our kitchen will put a smile on their face and lift their stress away. It is a privilege to be able to offer some form of comfort to those who have been working literally nonstop.”
