McDonald's Qatar supports local sporting activities

Doha, Qatar- 5th April 2017: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, highlighting keenness on giving back to society and promoting the development of sport, McDonald’s Qatar sponsored of a range of sports activities during the month of March.

The sponsorship of various sporting activities by McDonald Qatar is to inspire and empower the community to lead healthy and active lifestyles, regardless of age, ability and a strong commitment to the Qatar National Vision 2030.

In March, McDonald’s Qatar supported the GAOD Dragon Boat Festival, the Doha Badminton Tournament, the Maroons Cricket Match, the Construction Development Cricket Tournament and Qatar Ladies Sports and Social Club Tennis tournament. 

“McDonald’s Qatar believes in encouraging a healthier lifestyle for the community, with the hope that they can then share a healthier lifestyles with their families and friends. In doing so, we contribute towards the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030, which envisions a healthier future for the residents of the country,” said Ghada Kamal, Marketing Manager at McDonald’s Qatar. 

“The support for sporting events comes as part of McDonald’s larger corporate social responsibility program aimed at raising awareness about the importance and value of physical activity to the overall health and well-being of society,” added Ghada Kamal.

McDonald's support for the sporting events included cash sponsorships, providing trophies and vouchers as prizes for the winning teams. The sports activities were also attended by McDonald’s representatives and made the event more exciting as they conducted games, character appearance, face painting and balloon giveaways for the children.
