Snoonu Collaborates with Dukhan Bank to Distribute Garangao Boxes to Customers

Over 3000 Snoonu and Snoomart cobranded boxes were distributed by Snoonu drivers to mark the joyous occasion of Garangao


23 April 2022 – Doha, Qatar:  Qatar’s leading tech start-up Snoonu is pleased to announce its collaboration with Dukhan Bank where over 3000 Snoonu and Snoomart cobranded Garangao boxes were distributed to Snoonu customers on Garangao day by Snoonu drivers.
Garangao is a tradition celebrated across the Gulf Region marking the fasting of the first half of the Holy month of Ramadan. Being one of Ramadan’s most important celebrations in Qatar, Garangao is usually most enjoyed by children while rejoicing with families and friends. 


The Garangao boxes’ distribution drive is in line with Snoonu’s continuous corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts and commitment to rejoice with the local community and celebrate one of the most- eagerly awaited and enjoyed traditions in Qatar. The initiative paves the way for a long strategic partnership between the company and Dukhan Bank. 


On the day of Garangao, over 3000 Snoonu and Snoomart cobranded boxes containing nuts and sweets were delivered to customers who purchased an order. Garango boxes were also available on Snoomart for customers who were willing to purchase additional ones at a price of QR 10.
Commenting on the initiative and Dukhan Bank partnership, Hamad Al-Hajri, founder and CEO of Snoonu, said, “As a Qatari business, we are happy to join our local community in celebrating one of the most celebrated Ramadan traditions that Qatar is keen on preserving. Together with Dukhan Bank, we strive to bring cheer and joy to children and families.”

Snoonu recently announced that the company will continue offering free Iftar meals for its drivers sponsored by Biryiani Express throughout the month of Ramadan. Additionally, Snoonu launched “Buy 1 Give 1” initiative —
a joint effort with a range of dining outlets including: Bee Sweet Café, Biriyani Express, Melted Café, Taliano Café, and Majboos Al Walaida which offers a free Suhoor meal for the driver whenever a customer purchases a meal from a participating merchant.

Snoonu is also committed to giving back to the community through its wide-reaching CSR initiatives. Adhering to Ramadan’s spirit of helping others, Snoonu has also recently partnered with Qatar Charity and Qatar Red Crescent to have them listed among the available stores on Snoonu’s app and website. By clicking on “Ramadan Donations” banner on the app, customers can view all the available donation options, including the Ramadan Family box and Iftar meals. Once purchased by the customer as per the allocated amount of money, the purchased boxes or meals will be distributed to the targeted beneficiaries on behalf of both organizations.
