Qatar Post Unveils 2nd Edition of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ Official Stamp

Doha, Qatar - 13, July 2021: Qatar Postal Services Company (Qatar Post) has announced the launch of the FIFA World Cup 2022™ stadiums stamp set, the 2nd edition of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ official stamps. This comes within the signed agreement with Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), under which Qatar Post became the Official Licensee for stamps category for the tournament that will be hosted by Qatar. The 2nd edition was revealed at a special ceremony held on 12th July 2021, in the presence of FIFA’s Officials, as well as delegates from The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy and Qatar Post.

Similar to the first set, the launch of the FIFA World Cup 2022™ stadiums stamp set comes in cooperation with FIFA, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, and within the Qatar Post mandate to document all events, celebrations and preparations managed by the State of Qatar to host of the upcoming tournament. Through distinctive designs, each stamp embodies the unique architecture of the eight stadiums that will host the matches of the first-ever FIFA World Cup™ to be played in the region, in Qatar.

The FIFA World Cup 2022™ stadiums stamp will be sold to the public for QAR 28. As a first stage, 20,000 copies, 2,000 first-day issue envelopes, 3,000 postcards and 2,000 folders have been printed.

On this occasion, Mr. Faleh Al Naemi Chairman and Managing Director of Qatar Post said:
'We are pleased to present to the world a set of stamps for the FIFA World Cup™ stadiums. These distinctive and uniquely designed masterpieces are inspired by our authentic Qatari heritage and rich culture. This edition, featuring the eight stadiums that will host the tournament matches, highlight the stadiums’ aesthetics and high-end architecture. We are proud to cooperate with FIFA and the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy to launch this series of editions, which falls within the Qatar Post program to document all events, occasions and preparations related to hosting the most-anticipated and the biggest football tournament in the world.'

Qatar Post will continue to design stamps in commemoration of every stage of preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, which simultaneously highlight the rich legacy and history of the State of Qatar in the field of football. Only a few months ago, Qatar Post launched the first edition of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ official stamp that is distinguishable for its unique design that takes the form of Qatar’s map and bears the official logo of the tournament.
Qatar Post invites its customers and philatelic collectors in Qatar and around the world to enjoy the newly released edition as part of the celebration of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.
