Doha, Qatar, 2 June 2024—The Education Above All Foundation (EAA), a global education foundation, successfully hosted the iEARN-Qatar Open House 2024 yesterday through its Reach Out to Asia (ROTA) Programme. The event took place at the Palestinian School and showcased a wide variety of projects from students in Qatar. This annual event celebrated the educational achievements and innovations of the 2023-2024 school year, emphasising the power of project-based learning and intercultural exchange facilitated by the International Education and Resource Network (iEARN).
Mr. Abdulla Al-Abdulla, Executive Director of the ROTA Programme, emphasised, 'Our digital platforms for teacher training in both Arabic and English are designed to foster a conducive environment for a growing number of educators and facilitators. This strategic approach enables a larger scale of student engagement in iEARN projects, which are aimed at making a positive impact in communities worldwide.'
This year’s iEARN Open House also celebrated the formal inauguration of the EAA iEARN online training initiative, marking a significant step forward in their mission to provide accessible and high-quality education. The training programmes have been recognised for their effectiveness and reach, with iEARN being selected as one of the School Models of the Future by the World Economic Forum in 2020.
In a significant endorsement of the programme's impact, the Qatar Ministry of Education and Higher Education has signed an agreement with EAA to extend the iEARN programme to all schools across Qatar.
Since its inception in 2008, iEARN-Qatar has trained over 3,000 teachers from more than 110 government and private schools in Qatar, enabling 16,000 students to successfully complete curriculum-based iEARN projects. Feedback from this latest iEARN Open House 2024 was overwhelmingly positive, reflecting the programme's success in not only fostering academic skills but also personal growth among students.
