Skyline University College (SUC) and TYV Cross Fire Debating Competition Has a New Champion

Sharjah, February 21, 2017:   The 2nd Inter-School Cross Fire Debating Competition 2017 organized by Skyline University College and The Young Vision magazine on February 8-9, 2017 a SUC campus has attracted 46 teams from 23 participating schools in the UAE. 

During the elimination round, the 46 teams have debated on the topic, “Are Smartphones Really Smart?” to qualify in the finale round. Six finalists were shortlisted and moved forward to compete against each other to win the championship title. The Finale topic was, “Is Social Media Changing Our Daily Lives?” 

The Cross Fire Debating Competition ended with a new champion, Our Own English School team who was on the affirmative side that believed, social media is indeed changing our daily lives. 

SUC and TYV has been consistently organizing educational competitions for various schools in the UAE with the aim to hone students’ skills and highlighting their talents in public speaking.  Cross Fire Debating Competition will be back next year for the 3rd edition.
