As Qatar continues to stride forward in development across all sectors, the venture capital ecosystem remains a focal point of progress.
We are pleased to partner with our long-time collaborators Qatar Development Bank for the fourth time to release our annual venture capital report on Qatar for 2023, highlighting the leading industries, the key players, and the investment trends of the country.
Some of the key findings from the report:
In line with global and regional slowdown, Qatar recorded a slower funding landscape in 2023 marking a 23% YoY decline in funding.
Retaining its position among the top five most transacted countries in MENA, Qatar captured 6% of all the deals in the region, maintaining its deal share from 2022.
Accelerator participation in the country doubled in 2023 jumping from 16% in 2022 to 31% last year.
FinTech accounted for 15% of all the deals in the country and 21% of all the deals in MENA.
