Hotelier Middle East Awards Ceremony honours top hospitality industry leaders from across the region
October 02, Doha, Qatar – Mondrian Doha, managed by leading international lifestyle hospitality group, sbe, is pleased to announce its Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Mikel Ibrahim, has won the prestigious Hotelier Middle East Award for ‘Marketing and PR Person of the Year’.
Hotelier Middle East Awards is the annual ceremony hosted by the prestigious Hotelier Middle East magazine, sharing the news, and analyzing the trends of the regional hospitality industry. This year’s ceremony was the largest in history, with almost 1,000 submissions for 22 awards categories, including special ‘Editor’s choice’ nominations. The ceremony was held in JW Mariott Marquis Hotel in Dubai in presence of la crème de la crème of the regional hospitality, Hotelier team and independent jury members – leading hospitality experts.
Passionate, charismatic and a connoisseur of the latest fashion, design, and hospitality trends, Mikel has successfully introduced the hotel to the market and led on the implementation of Mondrian’s creative marketing strategy, making it the ‘place to see and be seen’ in Doha, and attracting a diverse, cultured, and trendy public with engaging campaigns and an unmatched visual identity. He also oversaw the preopening and grand opening of SLS Dubai Hotel & Residences, forging its bold and innovative identity disrupting the local market.

In addition, Hotelier Middle East also awarded SLS Dubai Hotel & Residences, opened since April 2021, as ‘The Best Newcomer of the Year’.
Sbe and Accor announced the plan to open 10 new Mondrian properties by 2022. The company recently inaugurated Mondrian Seoul Itaewon and announced openings of Mondrian Bordeaux and Mondrian Cannes in 2021. Sbe continues the strategic expansion of the brand’s international footprint in partnership with Accor. Soon-to-be announced Mondrian properties in Australia, the Dominican Republic, Germany, the Maldives, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam are part of this alliance. By 2022, sbe plans to open 50 new hotels internationally, with 10 of them belonging to iconic Mondrian brand.
